Dora Babu [Srikanth] is play boy of Amalapuram, who is completely into enjoying his life along with his gang. Swapna [Vidisha] comes into Dora babu life and both fall in love with each-other. While their love episode taking a happy turning with engagement, Dorababu get to know about an unfinished work of great king 'Sri Krishna Devaraya' to his surprise, he is the one to complete that work and he may need to sacrifice his life in the process. What is the unfinished work of �Devaraya�? How Dora Babu is connected to 'Sri Krishna Devaraya' ? Why he has to sacrifice his life? Did Dora babu finished and sacrificed his life has to be seen on silver screen.
Devaraya Review : Star Performances
Srikanth has done cent percent justice in both the roles of Dora Babu and Sri Krishna �Devaraya�. He entertains audience in first half as spoiled brat casonova of Amalapuram and in second half he convinced audience as Royal King with good dialogues and getups. Vidisha as Swapna has less role to play but manages to give some decent glamour show in songs. Meenakshi Dixit is also used as a part of glamour show in the second half, and she left her mark with her classical dance moves. Comedy gang of MS. Narayana, Jeeva,Kondavalasa is not impressive. There is nothing much to mention about remaining actors in this film.
Devaraya Review : Direction, Music & Technical Aspects
Nani Krishna has made his debut as director and producer with this flick. This double pressure on his head has surely effected the out come of this film. Story choosen by him has strength but he failed to capitalise it with weak screenplay and could not present the much hyped un-fold story of king Sri Krishna �Devaraya�. Music given by Chakri is not up to the mark. Especially his background score is awful. Cinematography by Poorna is good. He had captured the songs very beautifully and even the flashback part is shown visually good. Story by Veera Babu Basina is excellent but screenplay by Ravi Reddy Mallu is big minus to this film
Devaraya Review : Analysis
Handling a Socio-Fantasy theme film at this point of time is a risky and hard task. Makers of this film should be appreciated for present the un-fold story of thelugu king Sri Krishna �Devaraya� to present generation. In experience of technical team of this film starting from direction, production, screenplay and editing can be censed from starting to end. Director trying to fill the first of with few comedy scenes, three songs, little skin show from heroines, with little entertainment. Second half is where the untold story of king Sri Krishna �Devaraya� comes into picture. Director has failed to bring royalness and rich look to king �Devaraya� character. Even the flashback parties filmed to minimum time span. The reincarnation part of Dora Babu as �Devaraya� is little boring on screen. The graphical work used in this flick is not up to the mark, there is no much help from the graphical team which can be cashed in by �Devaraya� team.
