Ads with Indian models banned in Pakistan

Written By Unknown on Sunday, December 2, 2012 | 7:43 PM

In what is being called as a rather unusual and instigating move, it is heard that a Pakistani parliamentary panel has called for a ban on all those advertisements which have Indian models in them. They have also added that female anchors in news channels must have a Dupatta to cover their heads.  Sources say the Standing Committee for Information and Broadcasting of the National Assembly or lower house of parliament during a meeting. However, the information minister Qamar Zaman Kaira has reportedly mentioned that the issue is in court so the judiciarys decision will be final.  Incidentally, many Pakistani TV channels have ads featuring the likes of Shahrukh Khan, Shilpa Shetty, Katrina Kaif, Kajol and others. The information minister has reportedly added that though Pakistan is encouraging Indian media in their channels the gesture is not being reciprocated.
